Like everyone else, we love sugar. But we also have first-hand experience with how harmful sugar is to health. In fact, every year, sugar addiction leads to more deaths than accidents and violent crime combined (CDC).
That’s why our team has come together to solve one of humanity’s biggest health crises: sugar addiction. We as consumers shouldn’t have to play the balance game between health and deliciousness. So we’re changing the world – one Resugar substitute at a time.

Niv Ben-Ami
Co-Founder & CEO
Niv has years of technical experience in the IT industry. During the past few years, he has been immersed in sugar reduction solutions as he focused on building Resugar’s business and technology. His entrepreneurial spirit and passion for healthy and delicious food are what led him to found Resugar.
Ruthi Dror
Chief Flavorist
Mrs Ruthi dedicated 38 years of her career to Frutarom, acting as the Chief Flavorist of the company that was subsequently acquired by IFF for a substantial 7.1 billion USD. During her tenure, she focused on development and provided technical support for sales and customers both in Israel and on a global scale, specializing in the field of extracts.
Prof. Yuval Shoham
Chief Innovation
Ph.D. in Biochemical Engineering from M.I.T. served as the Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Engineering At the Technion.Was involved in several industrial projects, including the development of an enzymatic process for making low calorie natural juices. He has authored over 170 articles and book chapters and holds several patents
Dr. Fernando Schved
CTO
Dr. Fernando Schved, joined Galam R&D department in 1994, filling several senior positions over the years including Galam CTO and chairman of a Galam subsidiary. Fernando holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biochemistry and Nutrition, a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Biochemistry from the Hebrew University and an MBA from Edinburgh Business School. Fernando brings along a 29-year career experience with proven achievements in areas of R&D leadership, business development and product/markets evaluation focused on food ingredients. he also led the process of identification, market potential assessment and R&D leadership resulting in the establishment of a multi-million production plant for the prebiotic dietary fiber FOS.
Dr. Michael Zviely
SVP R&D
Dr. Michael Zviely has an extensive background in the food technology industry. Before joining Resugar, he served as the Global V.P. of R&D and Science at Frutarom Ltd. and the V.P. of R&D at Virdia Inc. Dr. Zviely has also held V.P R&D. at O’Laughlin Ltd. & DouxMatok. Zively earned his Ph.D. in chemistry and Post Doctorate in organic chemistry from The Hebrew University.

Romi’s leadership combines entrepreneurial vision, execution, and profound corporate experience. His impactful fifteen-year tenure at IBM's global headquarters was marked by significant market development roles, the insights from which led co-founding OpenLegacy, the leading cloud-native platform company for legacy integration and modernization.
Smadar Raz
VP Product & Regulation
With 27 years of experience in the food industry, Smadar's career has encompassed a wide range of managerial roles across leading companies, including GALAM, MEDICI MEDICAL, FRUTAROM (IFF), and TURPAZ. Throughout her professional journey, she has successfully executed aspects of product development and quality control.
